Pictured above is the theme of the 2002 Kirt Curtis seminar held in August
out at Sparky's place. This is a Linda Langenberg original of a
beautifully carved and painted Siberian tiger as pictured on the May-June 2001
Chip Chats magazine cover.
Kirt and Linda came down from Iowa and taught the club a five day seminar
in three days. I think we were all worn out by late Sunday afternoon but
we all sure came out with some real nice carvings. It's always fun
having Kirt. Our club must be special because we always get that special
treat of Kirt brining his wife Linda Langenberg along to help out with the
class.

Davie Griffith wood burns the stripes in his tiger carved
out of butternut. Davie opted for the natural wood look instead of
painting with colors. It turned out real nice and was the envy of
the class. |

Sylvia woodburning the fur into the tiger. This was
a long process but fun. Most of us had to take the tiger home and
finish the burning. Imagine that! Homework from a
woodcarving seminar! |
